CECELIA "ELIZABETH" THOMPSON
CECELIA ELIZABETH THOMPSON was born March 27, 1920 near Burbank, Oklahoma, to Ernest M. and Edna D. Hadden, and departed this life on September 20, 2012. She graduated from Burbank High School in 1938 and attended Oklahoma A & M. She married Clifford Thompson on August 17, 1941. She spent her life as a homemaker and volunteer.
Elizabeth was the center of the family. She was wife and sister, the best Mom ever, Aunt Libby to the generations of nieces and nephews, and Granny to not only her grandchildren and great grandchildren, but to all of their friends--and any child who happened into her life. She taught us how to cook, how to garden, how to love, and how to give. She was an exceptional individual who touched many lives.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 65 years, C. R. Thompson; her son, Donald R. Thompson; her brothers, Jack and Dale Hadden; and her sisters, Lola Herber and Rosemary Welborn.
She is survived by her daughters, Dorothy Baker (Wes) and Theresa Thompson; dear friend and daughter, Dr. S. A. Beeson; grandchildren, Christin Haun, Matt Baker (Amy), and Jeff Thompson (Melissa); great-grandchildren, Taylor, Katlyn, Josh, and Jake; and sisters, Betty Garrison (Clark) and Lenora Kaposhilin.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Saint Simeon's Memory Center or the Methodist Circle of Care.
